'Mind The Gap' Workshop Series
Objective
To sensitize and enable the senior year students of colleges to be better prepared for post academic rigor in the corporate/business/enterprise world.
Approach
“Mind-the-Gap” Workshop Series is intended to be a grounds-up, collaborative and an inclusive effort. The sessions are expected to be based on an intensive, hands-on, interactive session design. The Workshop Series will have 3 phases, namely:
1. Phase 1: Kick-off Workshop
- To set the tone, intentions, expectations from the workshop series.
- To identify the top-5 gaps, prioritize and firm up action plan for the next set of workshops.
- To be conducted with the students of both programs across 2 sessions.
- Mahesh Baxi & Ketan Hajarnavis will act as facilitators and enablers.
2. Phase 2: Gap Workshops
- Based on the top-5 gaps, Mahesh & Ketan will conduct 5 workshops on each of the gaps.
- Each workshop will be broken down into 2 sessions each to cater to the students from the two programs.
- Mahesh Baxi & Ketan Hajarnavis will act as facilitators and enablers.
3. Phase 3: Round-up Workshop
- To round-up learning from previous workshops and use as a consolidated framework for way forward
Capacity & Duration
We expect each workshop / session to have about 50-70 students from across various colleges. Following table presents an indicative capacity plan:
Sample of gaps identified & bridged at various colleges
- Communication – includes how to ‘sell’ your self, confident communication, articulation, body language etc.
- Effective use of social media tools – for building personal brand irrespective of roles such as application developer, business analyst, quality analysts, sales or marketing.
- Problem Solving – How to look at the problem to get to root cause and solution approach.

All the workshops were very helpful, especially on essentials of social media and problem solving.
Really useful for juniors if they take it seriously.
1. It was a really nice experience.
2. Got to know a lot about social media from corporate point of view.
3. Got to know about the importance of blogging.
4. How to establish connecting in social and professional circle.
Overall, it was fun experience and we got to learn a lot.
- Very beneficial
- Hope we have some more sessions
- Will certainly improve my social life and use social media tools effectively.
1. Amazing! Very informative.
2. Guidelines given are very apt and we really need to get going on.
3. Really beneficial.
- It was superaweome to be part of these workshops.
- Books and faculties will never teach us these and show us this angle of things.
- Such workshops should be more regular for our juniors. Why 5, lets have 25 workshops for them.
If I had to define these workshops in a single word, the word would be "AWESOME".
Its obvious that whatever we learn during our regular lectures need to be implemented properly inorder to stand ahead of the rest of the crowd. These sessions did help us analyze those tricks through which we can stand out.
If I could, I would have made the number of sessions rise from 5 to atleast 25 for our juniors ;)
This session turned out to be a very peaceful and awesome session accompained with full of learnings. Every single session followed in this whole bunch of sessions was giving us, the students, something to take back home and to follow it. After implementing them in some or the other way we realized the usefulness of those learnings and its significance, in building up the thread of goodness in us.
Interesting set of sessions. The sessions helped me work on my weaknesses. Sundays well spent. What I liked most was they shared their personal stories which helped me realize we should know ourself first and work around and through them...
Thank you Mahesh sir and Ketan sir.

All this ideas and preparation tips changed my life and not only gave me a very good job But also taught me how to approach the certain problems in diffrent ways!
Thanks a lot Mahesh Sir and Ketan Sir For those amazing and wonderful sessions!!
session was really helpful in understanding the Gap between student and industry
and how we can reduce this GAP by continuance effort with given direction in sessions.
It was an amazing session! Something which we really needed! Everyone kept telling us do something to stand out from the crowd but no one said How! But truly they showed us path and made us equipped with the things we will need for our journey to travel on that path.
The session helped me to grow as a person and learnt how I can utilize my capabilities to Maximum :)
It was the most relevant & practical workshop I’ve ever attended. This workshop helped me realize my strengths and weakness. It was kind of "The Must Session" before landing up in a corporate world. I especially appreciate all the practical tips, which I will be able to put to immediate use.
I am really thankfull to mahesh and ketan sir for taking this session. Within a time span of 2 to 3 hours. They actually showed us a really scenario how properly we can take an advantage of "Social Media" even though every one is active on social media but they are properly not connected with each other. This session gave a proper guidance to connect & communicate via social media. It actually filled a "gap" between a person and social media. This session also helped me to know about myself and how interactive and innovative we can in exploring things which we haven't tried or though of doing so.
I personally recommend everyone to have this workshop in their colleges. The best part of the workshop is that the trainers ask YOU to choose your weak areas and then accordingly they train you for the next few days. One of the main problems faced by freshers now a days is that they have this big question in mind - "What Next??" . The workshop helps one to realize what he/she is good at and what could be that one next step!
